What would we at ArtLook like to create with you the visual artist in mind?

A community of US visual artists that talk about a their work, their community and how artists are perceived in their community. I’m predicting that there have been changes in most communitites such as galleries closing, percent for art programs drying up and artists struggling to make a living.  When artists can make a connection to their audience understanding and sales result. I would like to help artists make that connection.

Artists' audio files will be recorded and loaded onto a toll-free number where anyone call and listen to the artists talk about their work and life.  The first 10 artists from each state will receive this unique service for a pledge of $19.95. Anyone can sponsor an artist, there will be no jury or criteria to pledge and participate. 10 artists from each state will qualify. In addition one image and artist contact information will be uploaded to the 888-8ArtLook website under 8888ArtLook.com/KickStarterProject for each artist participant. This project will be a snapshot of US visual artists in 2011. This project will live on the ArtLook website for two years. The project will be publicized on BlogTalkRadio.com/annette-coleman and artists will be encouraged to get the word out about this project through their network, facebook, email and exhibition tags.

A script is in the development stage to help direct the artists to answer specific questions about their work and what is going on in their art community.

What rewards are we offering?

The artist pledge will enable the artist to record their unique (2 minute) artist message and upload their image to the 888-8ArtLook website and be a part of the national dialog. And we will make the project files available for downloading once the project is complete.
